This experiment was designed to observe some influence on the enzyme activities in some organs of rats by -feeding. rice diet adding alcohol extracts from fish flour.
Sixty six-male Albino rats were used as the experimental animals and the subjects were divided into eleven diet groups and each group was fed on the corresponding diet for forty days.
The activities of alkaline phosphatase, glutamic oxaloacetic transaminase (G. O: T) and glutamic pyruvic transaminase (G. P. T) were determined in their serum and- liver. The obtained results are summarized as follows,
1. The alkaline phosphatase activity in the. liver was. decreased by the feeding of the rice diet with the alcohol extracts compared with-the rice diet group, and the activity in the group feeding rice diet with the residure(the portion after removing alcohol extracts from fish flour) was more increased than whole fish flour feeding group.
2. The G.O.T. activities in the serum and liver were more increased by the feeding of the rice diet with the alcohol extract than the rice diet.
3. In the G.P.T. activity in the liver of the group feeding rice diet with alcohol extracts from fish flour was increased, whereas the group feeding 10%casein die with alcohol extracts was decreased.
